It seems so easy here
(From Daikokuji Garden, perhaps the most famous Zen garden in Japan. If you sit about 2/3 of the way down the length, all the lines just seem to flow.)
as the sun warms my feet
and my eyes trace the ocean of waves
of sand, of the flow of life
To see that is is all in the perspective:
That from one place, the lines emerge and flow
to sway in a measured dance
of here and now
to there
And from another, all is lost in sharp angles
and dead ends
It seems so easy hhere,
and it is
The hard part is learning, to remember
to find that perspective
As I leave the here and now
and emerge
into Monday
