Long Last Look Copyright Doc Pablo, started 1988, finished 1/20/95 D A G A She told me I should come and meet her at the station D A G A She told me that she would be waiting there for me D A G A D A G A I found her sitting by the ticket taker patiently D A G A She told me that she would be leaving in the morning D A G A She told me that she'd come to town to say goodbye D A G A D A G A She'd never given me a reason or a warning why G Bm I guess I really couldn't blame her much for leaving G A I can't see anybody taking what she took (She gave me) D A G A D A G A Three hugs, five kisses and a long last look Mother was studying to be an English teacher She told me that her father was an engineer She didn't think that there was anyway they'd reach her here She told me that they thought that she was off at college She said they couldn't deal with an uncertainty I tried to talk to them but they would not acknowledge me She said we'll try again when both of us are older 'til then she said she's gonna take it by the book (She gave me) three hugs, five kisses and a long last look It's seven years now since we parted in December I live in Boston and I've got a wife and family At times I wonder if she ever still remembers me Five years ago she sent a picture of her husband She says she's sorry that it ended up that way She said she'd try to find a way to make it up some day I tried to tell her then that she don't owe me nothing I've got a fortune in the memories I took (along with) three hugs, five kisses and a long last look
